Bottom watering reduces the likelyhood of fungus gnats and keeps soil in place to cover those delicate roots. I love these for my smaller Alocasias, Begonias, and Calatheas, the are perfect for plants that love a "consistently moist" soil. I also like these pots because there's no need for unsightly drainage trays, and they fit perfectly on windowsills!
